Eligibility Criteria for the MEXT University Recommendation (UR) Scholarship:

To be eligible for the MEXT (UR) Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

International Student Status: You must be an international student residing outside Japan and intend to study abroad at APU.

Nationality: You must be a national of a MEXT-designated country (list provided by MEXT).

Date of Birth: Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1990.

Academic Record: You should have a minimum GPA of 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at your most recent university.

English Proficiency: You must have taken an English proficiency test after March 22, 2023, with a valid score. Only valid test scores will be considered (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).

Important Notes:

• Military personnel or those employed by the military are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Applicants who have received a MEXT scholarship in the past are ineligible unless they have completed at least three years of research after the previous scholarship.
