SINGA is a bond-free, fully funded scholarship that enables international students to pursue their PhD or EngD education in Singapore.

Jointly offered by A*STAR, NUS, NTU, SUTD, SMU, and SIT, the award supports exceptional talents who are passionate about research across fields like Biomedical Sciences, Computing, Engineering, Physical Sciences, and more.

Graduates earn their PhD or EngD from one of Singapore’s leading universities while conducting research at world-renowned institutions.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is open to all international graduates with excellent academic records and a passion for research.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Excellent academic records in undergraduate and/or master’s programs
  • Good proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Strong academic referees
  • Must not be a Singaporean citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident, or a current/former student in Singapore tertiary institutions

Scholarship Coverage

  • Full Tuition Fees (for up to 4 years)
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • S$2,700 initially
    • Increased to S$3,200 after passing the Qualifying Examination
  • One-Time Airfare Grant: Up to S$1,500
  • One-Time Settling-In Allowance: S$1,000
  • Estimated Living Costs: S$1,400 – S$2,000/month

Step 2: Prepare the necessary documents:

  • Valid Passport
  • Recent passport-sized photo
  • Academic transcripts and certificates
  • Two Recommendation Letters (submitted online by referees)
  • Optional: GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, or GATE scores (if available)
